The HPV vaccine Gardasil has had a negative impact on the health of over 15,000 girls and young women since its inception in 2006. Due to this, more and more health-conscious consumers are seeking alternative options. Instead of relying on a potentially-dangerous vaccine that has been shown to only be effective against 4 to 9 (depending on which vaccine is given) out of the 200 known strains of HPV, you can boost your immune system to fight HPV naturally.

Dangerous Side Effects Associated with Gardasil

Dozens of studies have proven that the synthetic chemicals contained in Gardasil can cause serious, disabling side effects. These chemicals include polysorbate 80, aluminum, MSG, L-Histidine, and even MSG! Each of them has been shown to cause side effects ranging from autoimmune disease to miscarriages to neurological impairment. For more information on these side effects, read my article on the harmful truth about Gardasil.

Most Human Papillomavirus Infections Clear Up On Their Own in Two Years

It may surprise you to know that amidst all of the urgency surrounding a so-called “HPV epidemic,” HPV rarely causes cancer. Furthermore, the virus usually clears itself up in a span of two years without the patient ever experiencing any symptoms. It’s also important to understand that just because you’ve tested positive for HPV doesn’t mean you’ll automatically get cervical cancer (or genital warts). It only means you have a virus that needs to be cleared from your system.

For your body to clear the virus, you may need extra immune support. This can often be done through the use of dietary changes, stress management, and immune-boosting supplements.

Boost Your Immune System to Fight HPV Naturally

The best way to fight HPV and the health complications associated with it is to boost your immune system so it can destroy the infection naturally.

To do this, you need to:

  • Make Dietary Changes

A strong immune system starts with a healthy diet. If your diet consists mainly of highly-processed foods like donuts, fast-food meals, and diet soda, your immune system will suffer. This is because these types of foods are nutritionally-void. They may fill your stomach, but will not give your immune system the nutrients it needs to function properly and protect you from disease.

To maintain a strong, healthy immune system, you must eat a wholesome diet. This means slowly weaning off processed food and investing in nutrient-dense foods such as organic vegetables, fruit, beans, seeds, nuts, meat, poultry, fish, and healthy fats such as coconut oil and olive oil.

  • Manage Stress Effectively

It has been scientifically proven that stress can be much more than a nuisance; stress can kill. Too much stress over too long a span of time can lower your resistance and decrease your natural killer (NK) cells so they are no longer able to protect and defend you from disease. To lower your stress levels, have a purpose-driven, spirit filled life. You may also want to take up a relaxing hobby, laugh at a funny video, or just sit quietly reading a book. The more relaxed you are, the more your body can work on healing itself.

  • Take Immune-Boosting Supplements

Even if you eat the healthiest diet, you may still have several nutritional deficiencies, which could have a negative impact on the health of your immune system. This is why it’s very important to supplement your diet with ultra high-grade nutritional supplements.

    • Folic Acid

According to a study conducted by the University of Alabama at Birmingham, low serum folate levels have been linked to the development of cervical dysplasia (caused primarily by HPV). The study concluded that women with sufficient folate and B12 levels were 70% less likely to be diagnosed with a more advanced form of cervical dysplasia. Folic Acid is part of my HPV program, as you will see below…..

    • Indole-3-Carbinol (I3C)

Indole-3-carbinol (I3C) is a compound present in cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli, cabbage, Brussels sprouts, kale, and cauliflower. According to a double-blind, placebo-controlled study published by the Louisiana State University Medical Center, women with cervical dysplasia II and III were given 200-400mg per day of indole-3-carbinol. Half of the patients in the 200mg per day group had complete regression of their disease and four out of the nine women in the 400mg group had complete regression as well. Not one of the women in the placebo group achieved this regression.

    • CoQ10

As women mature, their natural levels of the potent antioxidant CoQ10 begin to decline. This is especially true for women taking hormone replacement therapy or for those who use statin drugs for high cholesterol. Antioxidants are known for their cancer fighting and cancer prevention properties. Studies have shown that women with low levels of CoQ10 are at increased risk for the development of cervical cancer. Adding a CoQ10 supplement can help fight HPV naturally while also protecting your heart health. For my patients, I recommend 100-200 mg. daily.

    • N-Acetyl Cysteine

N-Acetyl Cysteine (NAC) is another powerful supplement that can help fight and prevent the development of HPV naturally. NAC raises your natural levels of glutathione, an antioxidant your body produces naturally. This antioxidant boosts your immune system and helps your immune system stay strong to fight off bacteria, viruses, and pathogens before they can turn cause a more serious health problem. NAC is part of my HPV program, as you will see below…..

    • Vitamin C

Vitamin C is an antioxidant that has been proven by numerous studies to boost your immune system and prevent the development of cancer. Research has proven that women with a high dietary intake of vitamin C had a marked reduction in the risk of cervical dysplasia and other HPV-related illnesses. For my patients, I recommend 500-1,000 mg. daily. Vitamin C is part of my HPV program, as you will see below…..

Given the harmful risks associated with the Gardasil vaccine, it’s important for women and young girls to learn their alternative options. The stronger your immune system, the better equipped you are to fight off a virus that could potentially contribute to the development of cervical cancer. Where vaccines deplete your immune system and leave you vulnerable to disease, antioxidants, stress management, and dietary support boost your immune system so your body can protect itself.

WHAT IS THE BEST COMBINATION OF IMMUNE-BOOSTING SUPPLEMENTS TO COMBAT HPV?

I often get asked that question. It is a very good question. I am glad you asked! Having treated many patients for HPV infection over the past 30+ years, I have found the following combination to be the most effective in boosting the immune system to fight HPV in BOTH WOMEN AND MEN. Make sure your partner(s) is treated as well!

1.) Immune Cell Support Formula. Take two twice a day for 8 weeks. Immune system booster. NK (Natural Killer) cell booster/activator.

NK (Natural Killer) cells are a type of infection-fighting white blood cells known as lymphocytes. Natural killer cells make toxic granules (toxic to viruses and bacteria), known as granzymes, and inject them into HPV cells, thereby killing the virus.

2.) Vitamin D3 5,000 I.U. Take one a day as part of a good health regimen. Immune system booster.

3.) Foundation Vitamin Formula. Take three once a day, or one three times a day, as part of a good health plan. Immune system booster.

4.) N-Acetyl Cysteine (NAC). Take one a day for 8 weeks. Immune system booster. Body and liver detoxifier.

All may be taken together. #1 and #4 are only taken for 8 weeks, although many choose to take them longer as they feel so much better. These work together to boost the production and activity of natural killer (NK) cells in your body, along with proper diet, exercise and stress reduction. #2 and #3 help keep the immune system optimized at all times. I recommend taking #2 and #3 regularly beyond the 8 week program as part of a good health plan and to keep the immune system optimized.

Your choice of supplements is very important. Many store-bought supplements vary in quality.  Diamond Nutritionals’ products are ultra high-grade professional supplements, made in America to the highest standards.

  1. Thank God for this article! Most of my family has autoimmune disease and my sister was insisting my niece receive this vaccine. Now that I’ve read this, I’m passing it on to her.

  2. Dear Dr. Maxwell,
I have hpv 45 and still PAP 1. I am really worried. If my body manages to clear the infection – will i be contagious. In my country the doctors say that I will always be contagious because I will always have the virus but just the viral load will be too low to be detected by the test. Is it true? Some say that the immune stimulator does not help at all and that its a life sentence.I hope for your advice and opinion. I really want to get rid of it. I cant sleep for months. I am so afraid. Thank you in advance for your help.

  3. I gotten gential warts and hpv cin 1 in my recent Pap smear test. I have my gardasil during my warts treatment. What can I do now doctor? Boost my immune system? Am worried and can’t sleep well.

  4. I was recommended to take a supplement called Papillex to help fight the virus. What is your opinion on this particular drug? What is the best anti-viral supplement that you would recommend?

  5. Dr. Maxwell, will boosting your immune system actually get rid of the warts caused by hpv? Or will they have to be lanced/removed?

    • Hello Brian,

      Thank you for contacting me.

The warts have to be removed.
To help keep them from coming back, it is important to boost your immune system.
A strong immune system can usually clear HPV from the body.

      All My Best,

      Dr. Maxwell

  6. Dr. Maxwell,

I just recently was made aware that I have genital warts. Everything that I have read and have been told by my doctor is that this virus will remain in my body forever (there is no cure). Yet, you are claiming this is possible with a boosted immune system. Just to make sure I am understanding correctly, you are saying that I can get rid of the virus permanently correct? As in, I cannot even remain a carrier to pass the virus on to any other future sex partners?

I have seen the 3 vitamin supplements you have recommended to others. Approximately how long of taking these vitamins at the recommended dosages (with exercise and proper eating) can I expect to fully get rid of the virus?

    Thank you

    • Hello Ryan,

Research shows a healthy body’s immune system can kill the HPV virus 80-90% of the time. This occurs over about 12-18 months in most folks.

It was once believed that if you became infected, you had the virus for the rest of your life. In recent years, testing by very advanced DNA methods reveal that only about 10% of those who were infected still had the virus after two years.

By optimizing your immune system with the right supplements, diet and exercise, there is a very good chance that your body will kill the virus (about 90%).

      I recommend the following:

Diamond Nutritional’s Immune Cell Support Formula, two twice a day for 2 months.

      https://www.askdrmaxwell.com/shop/immune-cell-support-formula/

Diamond Nutritional’s Foundation Vitamin Formula, three once day regularly

      Diamond Nutritional’s Vitamin D3 5,000, one a day regularly

      https://www.askdrmaxwell.com/shop/vitamin-d3-5000/

Please be sure to have any visible warts removed, and use a condom if you are sexually active.

      All My Best,

      Dr. Maxwell

    • Hello Heather,

      Thank you for your email.
In my experience, I have found that most patients with a strong
immune system can fight off the virus.

It is important to build up your immune system. I have found the supplements
and dietary modifications mentioned in this article to be quite helpful.

I will be glad to speak with you as well. Feel free to give my
      office a call.

Please keep me posted on your progress!

  8. Hello docter mexwell and thank you for information prepared
Four month ago i found i have genital warts it made me so so so panic and depressed.i researched in the net and the news about hpv and remaining for ever made me very sad.is it really possible that my body can fight and kill virus for ever and my immune system can cleared? My second question is about my itchy vagina? What can i do for that? Thank you again

    • Hello,
In most cases, it is possible for the immune system to clear the HPV virus from the system.
Any warts that are already visible need to be removed.

I also have an article about candida which is a common cause of vaginal itch:
      http://askdrmaxwell.com/chronic-candida-and-natural-prevention/

Please feel free to email me directly. I will be glad to review your medical
history and make natural supplement recommendations.

      All My Best,

      Dr. Maxwell

  9. Dear Mr. Maxwell,
    * Can you clarify to me that ; if %90 of bodies clears the hpv virus completely or bodies clear % 90 of the virus?
    * I have diagnosed with hpv type 6 about 6 months ago, I don’t have visible warts yet, may have very small & not visible, will go to control after 1 months.
    * Is there any possibility that I may have any other hpv type and not diagnosed at hpv dna test?
    * I had oral at that time and whatever spread to my vagina also spreaded to my mouth also, I had hpv dna test from my mouth (I keept my saliva inside mouth 2 minutes, gave the sample) that came negative. My problems at my mouth still continue ; feeling sth at my throat while swallowing, feeling a strange taste at my tongue , my tongue seems a little different wet and there is becoming small cracks on it, the color of tongue also lighter than before, feel burning at my throat, when I’m talking my voice getting tired faster than before. I visit the best ent doctors but none of them diagnosed anything at my mouth, do you think these symptoms are related with hpv infection?
    * I’m having folic acid & zinc supplements , eating well , had a check up , all is ok. do I need some more supplement?
    * is there any possibility to have hpv infection again in the future due to current exposure when we get older or something suppress our immunity system?
    * is there any possibility that there could be any hpv type does not cause infection at vagina & not diagnosed at hpv dna test but cause infection at mouth?
    * what is the best way to diagnose hpv infection at mouth?
    * if body clears the virus at vagina, that means clears from all body including mouth? or the resistance of body’s part may vary?
    * my job is a little stressful & working hours long, may that affect my immune system to fight with virus?
    * does the intensity of virus affect the body immune system fight? I mean eventhough the hpv is low risk type, if the intensity is high , that may cause permanent hpv infection?
    * is there any possibility that there could be any mutation between the types, such as from hpv type 6 to type 16?
    * it is known that there is app. 100 type hpv virus identified up to now, is there any possibility that I may have a kind of hpv type which is not identified up to now , but may be identified as high risk type in the future?
I really appreciate your replies for above questions, thanks in advance.

    • Hello,
      Thank you for contacting me.

Research shows that the HPV virus can be cleared by our immune system about 90% of the
time. This is one reason why we want to optimize our immune system.

You bring up many more very important questions. If you wish, please feel free to call my office
      to schedule a phone consultation.

      All My Best,

      Dr. Maxwell

  10. Hello Dr. I am a 21 year old female who has recently found out I had an abnormal pap with ASCUS. I had a coloposcopy yesterday and am awaiting results. While I was at the doctor he recommended I get the gardisil shot, so I got the first shot while I was there. I’ve been reading online that hpv positive women can have a higher chance of getting cin 2/3 from receiving gardasil after already having hpv. Is this true? I don’t plan on going back to get the other two shots.

    • Hello Lexi,

      Thank you for contacting me.
Research is showing this to be true.

With my patients I recommend building up the immune
      system to fight the virus.

      My Best To You,

      Dr. Maxwell

  11. Hi Dr Maxwell

My mum is 57 and recently went for a smear test in April which showed abnormalities. Follow-up Colposcopy in May identified CIN3. She had a Vaginal Hysterectomy end of August which involved removal of uterus and cervix as she also suffered from pro-lapse leaving the tubes and ovaries behind. She has yet to go in for her vaginal vault smear and genital wart test in February.

She is currently taking Iron tablets which she became deficient in after surgery. How can she best go about boosting her immune system? Would it be safe to take all the above supplements together? Would they all be required? In the past my mum has had breast cancer 14 yrs. ago and naturally we are worried for her health hoping she does not have the HPV virus but if we can build up her immune system before she goes for the genital wart test that would be great.

Thanks for your help and much needed advice in advance.

    • Hello,
Thank you for contacting me. I am sorry to hear about your mother.

I have found that the best way to fight HPV is to boost the immune
      system.

The supplements work well together. I have used them with my
      patients over 7 years.

      Warmest Regards,
      Dr. Maxwell

  12. Thank you Dr. Maxwell!!!! I recently found out that I had HPV but the doctor didn’t tell me anything else other than I was positive so I have been looking at every website for the last month doing research and they all made it sound like it would never go away no matter what so thank you for bringing ease to my mind!!! I now will be sleeping great tonight right after I purchase those recommended immune boosters!!!! I do have one question though, what is the earliest you have ever seen someone cured of the virus? Thank You soooooooo much!!!

    • Hello Emily,
Thank you for contacting me. I am glad to be of service.
I have seen the virus clear in as little as 12 months. The
      average time is 18-24 months.
As a rule, the stronger the immune system, the quicker the body is
      able to clear the virus.
      Warmest Regards,
      Dr. Maxwell

  13. Hi Dr. Maxwell,

My girlfriend has CIN 1. She has also done the gardasil 2 years ago. She is currently taking this supplement below.
    http://www.healthcorner.gr/pd/quest-vitamins-immune-system-biotix-30-capsules-4757.htm?lang=el&path=-757957167&gclid=CjwKEAiAvvyiBRDzrYuuldy6wB8SJABPJWObXT_gcyY0EV6QzCklNyoaBFxJ7A4xaARCYojPnrwjyhoC0Mzw_wcB

I’ve read from your previous answers from comments, that with boosting immune system in there is 90% chance to clear the virus from body. Did I understand right?

Is it ok to take the supplements in your article all together with the current supplement she takes? What is the dosage of each supplement in the article and for how long should be taken? Also do you suggest further supplements in order to clear the virus from her body?

    Many Thanks,
    Aris.

    • Hello Aris,
Thank you for contacting me. In addition to the product you mention, I would recommend Diamond Nutritionals Immune Support Formula, two twice a day for two months.
Along with that, I recommend Diamond Nutritionals Foundation Vitamins, three once a day regularly to keep the immune system optimized.
Research shows that a healthy immune system can clear the virus 90% of the time.
      All My Best,
      Dr. Maxwell

  14. hi i just recently back in 2014 may got diagnosed with hpv and im pregnant with triplets does this mean i will absolutly get genital warts.

    • Hello,

      Congratulations on your triplets!

Thank you for your question. Only a small percentage of those
infected with HPV will get genital warts.

With your doctor’s guidance, you will want to follow a healthy,
immune-boosting diet along with taking your prenatal vitamins.
This will help your body fight off the virus.

      Warmest Regards,
      Dr. Maxwell

  15. Hello Dr. Maxwell

Thanks for sharing all the info related HPV.

About 1 year back I’ve had a protected sex with a professional. After 3 weeks I started having burning sensation after 1 urinate. Its been on and off. Someday I feel like I don’t have anything and someday its feel like fire and it remains for couple of hours. Few days back I’ve been tested for HIV,Herpes,Urine Culture & Routine, HepA&B and everything came back negative I’m worried I might have HPV. I do not have genital warts but I have small white urlcers kind of spots inside my urethra, I met an STD specialist and doctor said I have nothing. He prescribed me 2 medicine. 1) Beta EC(Betacarotene, Multivitamins & Multiminerals Capsule) 2) Extend Forte(Biotib with Calcium Panthothenate, N-Acetyl Cysteine & Minnerals Tablets) to take one each per day for 15 days. I’ve been taking this medicine for 12 days and I don’t see any improvement. Could you please help me out. If its HPV then why isn’t is cleared since its been a year now.

    PLEASE HELP.

    • Hello Mr. Bhati,

      Thank you for your question.

I am glad you have been tested for the conditions you mention.
It sounds as if many things have been ruled out. Your doctor placed you on some very good supplements as well.

My concern for you is the possibility of HPV. To rid the body of this virus, one needs a very
      strong immune system.

To optimize the immune system to fight the virus, I recommend to my patients the four
products listed at the bottom of the article. They should be taken for the recommended period of time,
along with proper diet, exercise and stress reduction, as discussed in the article. All of these together build up the immune system.
This has worked very well for my patients for many years.

I look forward to helping you. Please feel free to email me directly at drcraigmaxwell@roadrunner.com

  20. I have had abnormal pap smears pop up over the last 8 years due to hpv. I have not cleared the virus. Does this mean I’m in that 10% that just will never clear the virus? Or can I boost my immune system and finally kick it once and for all? I have had 5 abnormal pap smears in 7 years, that are always ascus caused by hpv.

    • Hello Ashley,
Thank you for contacting me. I am sorry to hear about all you have been through with HPV, but I am glad you are keeping up with your
      treatment.
For my patients with HPV, I find that the great majority of them can clear the virus from their system if their immune system is optimized.
If my experience, the best way to do this is by following the natural health protocol outlined in the above article which includes specific
      immune-boosting supplements.
      Warmest Regards,
      Dr. Maxwell

  21. Hi Dr Maxwell,

I have been diagnosed with HPV and abnormal pap smear, CIN1 before I was pregnant. I have since given birth and is now nursing my 3 month old. Would like to start on the supplements that u have mentioned above. Can I take the supplements while breastfeeding? Thanks in advance for your advise.

    • Hello Wei,
      Congratulations on your new baby!
When pregnant or breastfeeding, I always recommend asking your doctor about
      your specific needs regarding supplements.
      All My Best,
      Dr. Maxwell

    • Hello Nae,
Thank you for reaching out to me. For my patients with HPV, or exposed to HPV, I recommend the four supplements
outlined at the bottom of this article.
You are correct. The goal is to boost the immune system so that it may naturally overcome the HPV virus.

  24. Hi,

How many times a year should you take #1 and #4? I know it is only recommended for 2 months at a time, but for how many times a year?

    Thanks.

    • Hi Kim,
Both may be used regularly to keep the immmune system optimized, especially in patients who are run down and stressed. I also have patients take these for two months on and two months off as well.
I customize them according to the patient’s needs (medical conditions, stress level, diet, etc.).
      Dr. Maxwell

  25. Hi,
I was wondering if boosting your immune system will also help to clear oral hpv, I have recently been told I have hpv in my throat! And I am going out if mind worrying that this will be a life long illness!
I have already altered my diet, and have started taking supplements,
    Thanks
    Jane

    • Hello Jane,
With proper immune-boosting supplements, diet, and stress reduction as outlined in this article HPV can be cleared from the body (including the throat) in over 90% of patients.
      Dr. M

  26. Hey Dr. Craig,

Just read this article after going through three different products to try and treat my Genital Warts. Most use acid to burn them off and the return within weeks but I have recently switched to a homeopathic cream that treats the wart differently. Once the warts are removed will boosting my immune system help them not return or more grow? Also when you mention that the body will take on average 2 years to rid itself of virus, are you starting at the 1st signs of warts/symptoms or when the immune system is healthy and can begin to properly fight the virus? I have been a restaurant owner for 2 years now and also only about a year ago became sober, I noticed my 1st wart about 3 years ago and only in the past year have they begun to grown in numbers and am wondering if it is just because my diet has been so bad and stress levels so high.. weakening my immune system

    • Hello Robert,
First of all, congratulations on your one year of sobriety!
With a strong immune system, the HPV can generally be cleared from the body within two years of the initial infection.
If the immune system is weak, it may take up to two years to clear the virus after the immune system is optimized with proper immune-boosting
supplements and diet as outlined in this article.
      Keep up the good work!
      Dr. M

  27. Hello Dr. Great article. I was wondering if there are negative things I can be doing to my immune system that might offset my progress with this immune boosting plan. For example smoking or drinking.

I have had hpv for over 6 years and warts always return shortly after having them removed.

    Thanks in advance

    • Hello Kevin,
To overcome HPV, it is very important to have a strong immune system. Tobacco and alcohol weaken the immune system, as does a poor diet.
Eating the right foods, and taking the proper immune-boosting supplements as outlined in this article, is very important.
      Dr. M

  28. Dr. maxwell
I was diagnosed with HPV over 20 years ago — it was the wart type back then. It turned into cervical cancer in 2013. I cleared a lot of the cancer by doing a lot of alternative cancer treatments. I did have a modified radical hysterectomy June of 2014. I recently have met someone in interested in having sex with, so I asked u Dr. To check my last pap to see ify HPV is active.y results came back active ??!!
Is there anything I can do to rid my body of this active HPV, as my boyfriend does not want to get this virus , understandably. Please help!! And thank you in advance

  29. I have been diagnosed with HPV and they’re saying I have the Stran that is this the genital warts around my anus they’re saying if you have the low risk of genital warts and you have warts that there is no cancer related but I might have anal cancer can I still get rid of anal cancer by boosting your immune system

    • Hello,
If you suspect you have anal cancer, it is important to be evaluated by your doctor ASAP. Anal cancer is not treated by boosting the immune system alone.
However, the good news is that a strong immune system, as outlined in this article, can overcome HPV about 90% of the time.
      Dr. Maxwell

    • Hello,
Any vaginal warts should be removed by your doctor. After that, building up your immune system is very important is overcoming the HPV virus.
A strong immune system can overcome the virus in the vast majority of patients. In this article, you will find the supplements I recommend, along with proper diet,
      to boost the immune system.
      Dr. Maxwell

  30. I had sex with my boyfriend, we didn’t know he was HPV positive until 2 weeks after we had sex & oral .
I haven’t gone to get tested but whats the chances that i could be hpv positive also and how fast can i fight the virus if i am infected ?

    • Hello Julie,
HPV is easily transmitted during sex. Please see your doctor for an evaluation.
Fortunately, a strong immune system most often defeats the virus, as you may have read in this article.
For my patients, I have used the protocol outlined at the bottom of the article for a number of years with good success.
Both partners should be treated for at least two months.
      Dr. Maxwell

  31. Hello,
Thank you for contacting me. I understand how frightened you must be.
The good news is that HPV is most often defeated by a strong immune system, as you may have read in my article.
For a number of years, I have recommended the protocol at the bottom of the article to boost the immune system
so that it may overcome the virus.
    Dr. Maxwell

  32. Hi Doc, Lately I’ve been getting bad news after bad news to the point that I’m numb to it all. I was diagnosed with Hep B November 2015 and Hpv January 2016. Funny enough is both of these viruses can be cleared based on how strong our immune system is. I was vaccinated for both but it did not work for me. Is there any advice you can give me to boost up? What do you think about b12 shots? Probably I can knock 2 birds with one stone?

    Thanks

    • Hello,
I am sorry to hear about all you have been through.
You are correct, I feel an optimized immune system is key to recovery. For my patients, I recommend proper diet, stress reduction, and exercise as outlined in this article.
I also recommend the four supplement protocol as outlined at the bottom of the article. This program boosts the natural killer (NK cells) in our systems.
I would be glad to speak with you through a telemedicine consultation. Please feel free to contact me through my website at www. AskDrMaxwell.com.
      Warmest Regards,
      Dr. Maxwell

    • Hello,
I am sorry to hear about all you have been through. For my patients, I recommend the natural immune-boosting supplement program as outlined at the bottom of this article.
This program has helped many over the years. As you click on each of the four products in the program, you will see a green product info button. This will provide the latest research on how each product works.
As you will read, it is important to raise your natural killer (NK) cells. These specialized white blood cells are a major body defense against these infections.
      Dr. Maxwell

  33. Dear Dr. Maxwell,
Thank you for the informative article.
2 months ago I was diagnosed with an abnormal pap and hpv (This, after being very long overdue for a pap- about 6 years)! I went in for a colposcopy and after asked to come in for the leep procedure, but I declined at the time and decided to see if it would clear on it’s own. My doctor told me to come in 6 months for a follow up pap. Isn’t this too soon? In the meantime, I quit smoking, am taking Culturelle health and immunity supplement, and a women’s multi vitamin, among other changes to my lifestyle. I am curious to know if it is possible to have contracted the virus 18 years ago and it just had not shown up in previous tests? You see, I am married and have been monogamous all this time. Certainly my first impression is, my husband has not?! I brought this up to my doctor, and although she didn’t give me a direct answer, she said something like, ‘Well you WERE negative 6 years ago’!
    Thank you for your time.
    Awaiting your reply.

    • Hello Suzy,
Thank you for contacting me. The HPV virus can take up to several years to manifest itself by way of changing a pap smear.

The fact that you were negative six years ago no doubt leads to some questions.

To help your body overcome HPV, please consider the natural, immune-boosting program as outlined at the bottom of this article. This popular program has helped many over the years.
Your husband will need treatment as well.

      Warmest Regards,

      Dr. Maxwell

  34. hae,ive recently spotted a few bumps nd a small fleshy growth at the end part of my penis…i think it may be genital warts!!! ive done some research nd am positive they are warts….i was thinking of going to the see a doc nd i wuld lyk u to tell me the best creams that can get rid of warts quickly….i prefer creams coz i think they are less painful nd easy to handle nd not so expensive as removing them.

    • Hello Ryan,
It’s wise to see your doctor for the proper diagnosis. If you have HPV, there are several
      effective treatments to choose from.
      Dr. Maxwell

  35. Am confused Dr. Craig, my Gyne and other sources say HPV lives in the body forever and no strong immune system can eradicate or kill the virus. All it does is stop the infection. Could you please help me understand this. I am certainly interested in taking the vitamins mentioned in the article but would they eradicate the HPV virus or make it dormant? Am concerned!

    Thanks & Regards,
    Vin

    • Hi Vin,
Thank you for contacting me. The CDC reports that the body can “clear” the HPV virus in 90% of those infected within 2 years. That means levels are so low they are unable to be detected.
It is thought that the virus is gone, or held down to levels which cannot be measured by modern science, thanks to a strong immune system. There are two schools of thought on this. The good news is that even if the virus
is somehow still present, but undetectable on any testing, it can no longer cause any problems….nor can it be transmitted.
      Warmest Regards,
      Dr. Maxwell

  36. Hello Diana,
Thank you for reaching out to me. In my experience, the targeted, natural supplement protocol outlined at the bottom of this article, along with proper diet and exercise (outlined here as well)
is an excellent way to boost the body’s immune system to overcome the HPV virus.
This has worked very well for many of my patients over many years.
    Dr. Maxwell

  37. Hello Dr.Maxwell
I’ve been fighting the hpv virus for years now and every time I remove them they return. I now have warts on my lips and genitals. How do I remove the warts from my lips?

    • Hello Fergy,
Thank you for reaching out to me. I understand how frustrating HPV is.
Any visible warts will need to be removed by your doctor, or by a prescription medication you can apply at home.
The warts are a visible sign that a patient has the virus in their system. The goal is to get rid of the virus so the warts do not return.
This comes through building a strong immune system to overcome the virus.
For many years, I have recommended the four supplements outlined at the bottom of this article to build a strong immune system.
I believe you will find them quite effective, as so many have.
      Dr. Maxwell

  38. Hi Dr. Alex,
I just learned I am hpv positive high risk. Had a abnormal paps in which I believe was my first paps ever at 37. I have had many pelvic tests etc, but not a paps that I’m aware of. So I jus my went for A coloscopy and apparently the abnormal cell areas turned white with the help of the solution they put on. I believe two small areas at 6 and 9 o’clock according to my obgyn. Before this test I asked my dr about my paps that what did she see? She said nothing was visible to the eye so that’s basically a good sign. But the cells are abnormal and with hpv high risk who knows. So she said if it was CC she would have told me ASAP for treatment but had me come for the coloscopy. So ascus is not certain of what cells issues yet! My question is if the tissue is white does it most likely mean it is Cc? And the fact I haven’t had a paps to know when it started? Also what are the 4 vitamins u recommend to get rid of this? And will it always come back or wil it stay away for years and years! I’m feeling so alone and scared about this!! I had all blood work done and u name it all bloodwork is great. No infections and I haven’t had a cold in over 8 years that I’m aware of. Sorry for so many questions! Sacred to see that this can cause all these other C too it’s scary and we need a true cure. Has it ever been tried to give someone the shot at any age that already has the hpv high risk and see if it may work ? Many thoughts

    • Hello Benay,
I understand your anxiety about HPV. Be sure to follow your doctor’s advice about treating any abnormal
      pap smears.
A strong immune system can destroy HPV about 90% of the time. For my patients with HPV, I have used the protocol (4 products) at the bottom of this article
for many years with good success to build a strong immune system to overcome the HPV virus.
      Dr. Maxwell

  39. Hello Dr. Craig,
I had a positive HPV test a couple of week ago and tested positive for strand 16 and My pap test was also normal. I felt as though my life just changed. While I tested negative for HPV 4 years ago but now a positive test with a high risk strand. I’ve been reading in some places that strand 16 is very hard to clear and can live in the body forever. Not sure how true this is – I’m just extremely worried, particularly to cancers.

    Thank you!

  40. Hello Doctor! I am currently taking N Acetyl Cysteine. I take one after lunch and one after dinner. How often should i take this and for how long? I read that one should only take it for 2 months. Please advise me and tell me how this can help boost my immunity.. Thank you. 🙂

    • Hello Ish,
N-Acetyl Cysteine boosts the immune system by helping our body make the powerful antioxidant, glutathione. Glutathione also
      helps detoxify the liver.
      Dr. Maxwell

  41. Hello Doctor! I am currently taking N Acetyl Cysteine. I take one after lunch and one after dinner. How often should i take this and for how long? I read that one should only take it for 2 months. Please advise me and tell me how this can help boost my immunity.. Thank you. 🙂 🙂

    • Hello Ish,
For my patients, I recommend 500 Mg. of NAC daily. In my opinion, this dose is safe to take regularly for most healthy adults.
When treating HPV, it is only one part of my four part protocol as you will see at the bottom of this article.
The source of your supplements is also very important. I do not recommend mass produced ones, such as those often found in grocery stores, discount stores, etc.
      All my best,
      Dr. Maxwell

  42. Hello Doctor.

I have been fighting HPV for 4 months and am working like crazy on boosting my immune system through diet/exercise and taking a great multi. I’m also taking 3000mg of AHCC, which I read has shown promise in early testing. My question for you – I have just purchased your immune support supplement and the NAC to add to my multi and vitamin d regimen. Is there any reason to believe it would be disadvantageous to continue taking the AHCC with these supplements?

Thank you so much for your help!

    • Hello Rebecca,
Thank you for contacting me. For my patients, I find that the protocol outlined at the bottom of this article, taken for at least two months, has worked very well
to boost the immune system against HPV over the years, along with proper diet and exercise. Adding AHCC is OK but may have no advantages.
      All my best,
      Dr. Maxwell

  43. Hello dr carig,

I recently just got abnormal pap test which indicate I have a high risk hpv but not strain 16 or 18, I’m really scared and freaking out since I have develop some skin rash around my arm and and other part of my body and is very itch idk if it’s because of the hpv. I have recently taking some folic acid and some herbal immune system medicine and also trying to eat healthy. Is there anything I can do to boost my immune system and do you think is normal to develop small skin rash that itch like crazy

    • Hello Jen,
Please contact me through my Q & A forum here on the website. I will be glad to assist you.
      Dr. Maxwell

    • Hello,
I often use the four-part protocol outlined in this article to boost my patient’s immune system against wart viruses.
It has worked very well for many!
      Dr. Maxwell

    • Hello,

I often use the four part protocol outlined in this article for plantar warts. The papilloma virus which causes these warts often responds to
this immune-boosting protocol as well. Wart viruses are opportunists and frequently take advantage of temporary weaknesses in our immune system.
So, optimizing the immune system is often very helpful in preventing their return.

      Dr. Maxwell

  44. Hi Dr. Maxwell. I have had hpv for about 3 yrs. about a yr and a half ago i had them surgically removed. they have not come back and i continue to avoid bad for you foods. i guess what i’m wondering is, can the virus spread if there on no warts present? how do i avoid from spreading or is there no hope over ever regaining a normal sex life without destroying someone’s life in the process?

    • Hello,

There is much hope! A strong immune system can overcome the HPV virus and lead to immunity in about 90% of patients.
The 4-part, natural protocol outlined at the bottom of this article has helped many over the years.

I always remind my patients to be sure their partners are treated as well.

I wish you the best of health!

      Warmest regards,

      Dr. Maxwell

  45. Hello Mr. Craig,
I have read your article, actually i recently gone for a Pap test and found that there is severe inflammation and LSIL in the report. Accordingly my doctor advised to go for an operation to remove the uterus. In this case, kindly suggest me what best i can do for natural treatment without removing my uterus.

    • Hello,

In my experience, LSIL often reverts back to normal, especially when the body has an optimized immune system. I am not sure why your doctor recommended a hysterectomy.
I would consider getting a second opinion.

I wish you the best of health!

      Dr. Maxwell

  46. I’ve been dealing with many recalcitrant common warts all over my hands, neck and feet for 7 years now and recently they have increased a lot.

I’m freaking out! How can I control my stress level when I’m dealing with the anxiety of getting so many more? I’ve tried all treatments and nothing has worked. In addition, I eat an all organic diet and exercise daily. I was taking Pau De Arco for two weeks and had to stop due to it causing headaches. But could this herb actually have caused an increase in my warts? There was a recent published article in the Academy of Dermatology that had adults with recalcitrant warts taking oral acitretin(SORIATANE) for 3 months and had complete clearance of recalcitrant warts and continue clearance after 6mos.
I know this is a serious drug, but I’m desperate! What are your thoughts?

    • Hi Ms. Davis,

I certainly understand your frustration. As you can imagine, I have removed thousands of warts of all kinds over my years in practice. Of course, my goal is to boost the
patient’s immune system to keep the warts from returning, and for the past 11-12 years, I have recommended the 4-part natural program outlined at the bottom of this article with
      much success.

Many have used the 4-part program as outlined to boost their immune system to overcome recalcitrant common warts as well as other types of warts. An optimized immune system is almost
always able to overcome viral warts.

I wish you the best of health!

      Dr. Maxwell

  47. doctor I’m married and I got tested for high-risk HPV first time in 2014 after a year with a different doctor I still test positive for high-risk HPV but not 16 and 18. am so worried because I can’t determine when I got contacted it all I know it’s two years now since the test but I still have it. I’m married. been married for five years and been faithful I want to believe my husband too because I have no reasons to doubt him in fact, I have never doubted him or seen any signs of cheating. but I’m getting to think it was my past relationship of about 7 -8years ago or else my husband had it before we meant. is it possible I could have lived all those years with it? or my husband lived with it for a long time ? when i meant him he had not been in a relationship for about 3years so he wasn’t sexually active till we meant. also I’m using Phentermine can take those recommended immune boosters with Phentermine?

    • Hello Milka,
Many patients have completed the 8 week program while taking weight-loss medication such as Phentermine.
I always recommend discussing your individual healthcare needs with your doctor before beginning any supplements.
      All my best,
      Dr. Maxwell

  48. Hello,
I started to use your immune system regimen 11/23/16 due to having HPV for a year with no answers. So I thank you for that.
The two pills you recommend to use for two months Immune support and N.A.C when the two months are up does this mean I just use the vitamin D3 and foundation Vitamin Formula only?
    Thank You again,
    Beth

    • Hello Ms. Riddle,

Yes, after the initial 2 month program which utilizes 4 immune-boosing supplements, most patients can
reduce the regimen to 2 of the products: Foundation Vitamins and Minerals and Vitamin D3 5,000. Both of these are part of my good
health program to keep the immune system optimized. Many who have had longterm immune system challenges and related medical problems feel so much better and choose to stay on the initial 4-part program longer, which is
fine to do. The program is also very helpful with optimizing body detoxification.

      Dr. Maxwell

  49. I have just purchased the immunity vitamins. I have struggled with a flat wart virus for past 5 years only on my legs. As far as HPV all my lab work is clear. II don’t know if I have HPV or if I just have a viral infection. I don’t know if this has spread due to lack of vitamens, nutrition, not working, unhealthy diet , alcohol consumption ect. I am desperately looking for advice on how to clear this up. Dermatologist don’t seem to help. Based on everything I read its due to a low immune system. Any recommendations?

    Thank You

    • Hello Ms. Horton,
In my experience wart viruses often respond to a boosted immune system. This 4-part protocol, along with proper diet, has helped many over the years.
I wish you the best of health!
      Dr. Maxwell

  50. Thank you for this article. I have been dealing with HPV and having a colonoscopy for quite some time how. I just received a call that this time it came back positive for 16. I am not sure if I should be freaking out or what at this point. I have asked my MD for recommendations and she gives me nothing and tells me to just keep coming to MD and following protocol. I want to get rid of it. I have a good diet not much process foods, I exercise but not on a schedule. My life is not stress free and I am working to change it. I just feel gross. Thanks for you vitamin regimen. Can this article be emailed to me? Do you have any other suggestions? My follow up appt for the colonoscopy is Feb 28th.

    • Hello,

I understand how stressful dealing with HPV is, and I am glad you are following your
      doctor’s recommendations.

Remember that the vast majority of those with HPV will clear the virus(s) from their system, especially if their immune system is optimized.

For my patients, I have recommended the 4-part program outlined in this article for many years with much success.

Please feel free to print this article and share with others.

      Dr. Maxwell

  51. Hello Dr maxwell. I’ve been reading you blog and feel happy to see how you can help so many people. I just did a pap smear and hpv test. My pap smear was clear but my hpv strain 16 has come positive!! I’m completely depressed as I’m not even so sexually active. It’s only my husband. What can I do? Is there anyway the body can help flush out a high risk hpv 16 virus.? I’m willing to do anything to get rid of this. Thank you and I hope to hear from you!

    • Hello Sonia,

Thank you for sharing this information.

I certainly understand how much frustration, anxiety and depression this
causes for so many. But you are not alone! Many have shared these same feelings, as HPV is one of the most common
      infections worldwide.

The good news is that, in my experience, those with an optimized immune system are able to eradicate
HPV strains over 90% of the time.

To help accomplish this immune system optimization, I have recommended the 4-part, 8 week program outlined at the bottom of this article.
It has helped many patients over the years and I believe it will help you as well.

I wish you the best of health!

      Warmest regards,

      Dr. Maxwell

    • Hello Tom,

The supplements in the 8 week program are recommended for both women and men.
It is very important to treat any partner(s) as well.

      Dr. Maxwell

  52. It is safe for men to take the folic acid, ic3q, coq10, and n-acetyl cysteine in addition to the other 4 supplements? is it safe to take that many supplements together? also want to clarify its okay for men to take all of them together

    • Hi Tommy,

It is safe for both men and women to take these additional supplements, but they are not necessary when taking the 4-part, 8 week supplement program, which is very comprehensive.

I wish you the best of health!

      Dr. Maxwell

  53. How come Ic3 and CoQ10 are not part of the supplemental program? Should we buy them from somewhere and add to the program? I’ve been taking the supplements you prescribed above for the past three weeks and I already feel better. I didn’t realize my low immune system was affecting me in all aspects of my life. I’m am thinking positive thoughts, relaxing, exercising, laughing more, thinking happy thoughts, praying and meditating as part of healing my body as well. We are not promised tomorrow…..so we can only take it a day at a time and that is what I am doing. You are the only doc that has given people hope. Thank you! I will keep you posted on my progress……

    • Hello,
Thank you for the kind words of encouragement!
Other supplements are mentioned in the article to give folks an idea about what can help boost the immune system.
However, in my experience, the very popular 8-week program is so comprehensive that additional supplements are not necessary.
      All my best,
      Dr. Maxwell

  54. Hi, doc is it possible for me to take the D3 and fundamental vitamin formula even though my doctor says that I am young(21) and my body could fight the virus but last time I checked my lymphocytes were in the 50s and my cytology was good and he said that I have ascu that shows on the thin pap?

    • Hi Lizzy,
We have many patients of all ages who are following the 8-week program.
It is a very healthy, and safe, program to optimize the immune system.
      Warmest regards,
      Dr. Maxwell

  55. Hello Dr. Maxwell,

My dermatologist diagnosed me with flat warts. They are all over my legs and lower back. Tried treatment of a type of liquid to each of the warts all most a year in doctor’s office with no success of getting rid of them. The treatment caused the warts to blister up and was very painful but they didn’t disappear. I am 53 years old and have read recently that people over 40 don’t get flat warts–do you agree with this? Will your suggested supplements/vitamins rid me of flat warts?

    • Hello Cheryl,
Many have sucessfully used our immune-boosting program to get rid of flat warts.
I wish you the best of health!
      Dr. Maxwell

        • Hi Nicki,
Yes, these may be taken together. They are in Foundation Vitamins as part of the program.
I wish you the best of health!
          Dr. Maxwell

  56. Hi, first of all i want to be that i’m greatfull that i’ve seen this post, it’s pretty help full.

I want to take this programm but what about if my girlfriend have HPV too ?
I mean, if i take if out thanks to my immune system, can she gives me baack fews weeks later ?

    • Hello Julien,

Thank you for the kind words.

It is very important for both partners to complete the program at the same time as HPV viruses can be passed back and forth.

      All my best,

      Dr. Maxwell

  57. Dear Doctor.

I have hrp for almost 4 years and i have genital warts. I am a man. Does Ahcc works for men?any possibilities for my hrp to be totally eradicated upon booting my immune systems?most people only talking about treatment. i am more interested in knowing the eradication. Also how long does i going to take for us to have the cure for hrp?

    • Hello Ash,

Thank you for contacting me. In my experience, no single product will boost the immune system enough to overcome HPV. The
4-part, 8-week plan outlined in this article has helped many boost their immune system to overcome HPV.

It is important to keep in mind that any venereal warts already present need to be treated by your physician. Also, any partner(s)
need to be treated with the 4-part, 8-week program at the same time as HPV viruses(s) can be passed back and forth.

I wish you the best of health!

      Dr. Maxwell

  58. Dear Dr. Maxwell

Thank you so much for the information. Most of the doctors says that there isn’t any treatment for HPV, thank you for this article !

I have two questions. Does birth control influence HPV recovery ? How about alcohol ?

    Thank you,

    Sonia

    • Hello Sonia,

Thank you for your kind words.

Both BCPs and alcohol can slow recovery from HPV.

I wish you the best of health!

      Dr. Maxwell
